TeEnGiRl FaNtAsY izzzz KEWL!!111!!1!!!!!1111!

I’ve been listening to the esoteric Teengirl Fantasy for a while, but haven’t been able to find out a whole lot about them except that they might be from Ohio??? Here’s one of their songs:

In pursuit of further information about them I stumbled across this Angelfire-hosted “fan” site that is too funny not to share.

God bless the Internetz and goodnight!

Doom Squad

Sometimes, when I wander up the pathways of my mind, I remember …

Running on a pine needle carpet, among the trees, warpaint on my face. Sitting round a fire, lying back and staring at the Milky Way. Strange rituals, talismans, codes written on birch bark and unravelled. Symbols scratched into the dirt. Meaning in the forest. Intention in the lake. Soul in the stones. A heartbeat in the earth …

Hear it?? Listen!

Listen!

Schitz Popinov

Originally introduced to us by Wolf “Ghostprom” Haddock, aka the new father of consciousness heightening sound art, we are once again transfixed; this time by the awe inspiring mixes of Vancouver based and aptly named Schitz Popinov. We believe the music speaks for itself, so have a listen… you won’t be disappointed!

More Ear Candy here.

Keep it real,

Sylvia.

Ghostprom – Paths

You know that feeling you get when you experience something new and positive for the first time in terms of creativity? You see a piece of art in the window of a gallery, or on an artblog; it may be a painting, or an illustration, it may be vividly lifelike or hauntingly abstract, but whatever it is about it, often some quality you can’t quantify with words, it makes you happy to be alive. You stumble upon a photograph so beautiful that you actually yearn to step inside of its world. You taste a chef’s creation and your palate explodes in fireworks of flavour and you can’t help but moan out loud almost orgasmically. You read a piece of literature that is so eloquently written that time loses all relevance and you forget that you are breathing. You hear a song, or a set, and you are whisked away to the happiest of all happy places. You immediately desire to share it because everyone should inject their minds and their souls with the inspiring greatness of the artist. If there are any people in this world we feel indebted to it is to those individuals that have taken it upon themselves to awaken the senses. We believe that all else aside we are here simply to live, and what better way to do this then to indulge our senses to their very core. For us, Wolf Haddock’s “Paths” does just that.

Okay, this just has to happen.

Obsession sounds like this:

Lyrics:

They heard me singing and they told me to stop
Quit these pretentious things and just punch the clock
These days my life, I feel it has no purpose
But late at night the feelings swim to the surface

‘Cause on the surface the city lights shine
They’re calling at me, come and find your kind
Sometimes I wonder if the world’s so small
That we can never get away from the sprawl

Living in the sprawl
Dead shopping malls rise like mountains beyond mountains
And there’s no end in sight
I need the darkness, someone please cut the lights

We rode our bikes to the nearest park
Sat under the swings and kissed in the dark
We shield our eyes from the police lights
We run away, but we don’t know why

And like a mirror, the city lights shine
They’re screaming at us, “We don’t need your kind”
Sometimes I wonder if the world’s so small
That we can never get away from the sprawl

Living in the sprawl
Dead shopping malls rise like mountains beyond mountains
And there’s no end in sight
I need the darkness, someone please cut the lights

They heard me singing and they told me to stop
Quit these pretentious things and just punch the clock
Sometimes I wonder if the world’s so small
Can we ever get away from the sprawl?

Living in the sprawl
Dead shopping malls rise like mountains beyond mountains
And there’s no end in sight
I need the darkness, someone please cut the lights

I need the darkness, someone please cut the lights
